not sure if it should be labelled [obs] because it's really a historical term but it's obsolete in the sense that Tokyo is no longer a 府</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I think the note assumes too much knowledge of Japan's prefectural system. I think most would take "metropolis" here to refer to the dictionary definition of that word rather than 都. I think the entry doesn't need a note.</upd_detl>
