<upd_detl>Not a change to the entry as such, just a request for a fix in "Text Glossing": when either 打ち合せ or 打合せ occur in a text, we get the information shown above OK.
However, when 打ち合わせ occurs in a text, we get this information instead:
* Possible inflected verb or adjective: (causative)
打ち合う : 打ち合う; 打合う 【うちあう】 (v5u,vt) to fight; to exchange blows; to rally; ED
I confirmed that this happens because the parsing stops after せ - but the verb output will rarely be useful. I wonder whether the parsing can be tweaked in this case so that the software does not stop after the せ but checks whether the next character is た, て, な, ば, ま, ら, る before deciding whether to offer the entry for the verb (causative of 打ち合う) or that for the noun (打ち合わせ). (I don't know how the parser works, but i hope i am not mistaken in my assumption that there is at least a "one-character lookahead" involved in the process.) m(_ _)m</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I have replied to Hendrik:
"I have changed the Text Glossing so that for longer verbs (typically 形容動詞) I disable the "deinflection" process if the masu-stem is an entry already. It's a bit of a compromise, but it may work out the best approach."</upd_detl>

.
"previous arrangement" sounds like "the way things were arranged before" and 打ち合わせ doesn't mean that.
.
Can it mean "appointment"?
.
I don't think "business meeting" is a good gloss to have at the head of the definition. It's simply 前もっての相談 (as gg5 puts it) and not necessarily related to business: it could be two teachers getting together to discuss the next unit of work.</upd_refs>

<upd_detl>I've collected my thoughts a bit better now so I'll try again.

imagine you're asking a friend for a drink, and he responds:
> ごめん。俺、行けない。大事な打ち合わせがあるから
here the word 打ち合わせ is largely synonymous with 相談

if you went with the "advance arrangements" gloss without checking properly, you might expect him to tell you tomorrow:
> Well, I went straight home, booked a hotel room and even packed my bags!
and you'd be dead wrong.

I think it's important to emphasize the discussion aspect, that there are at least two people, that there are no concrete actions involved (like booking a hotel room) but merely talk. I think adding the word "(making)" there in fact worsens the situation, makes it sound more concrete than it is.

GG5's "preliminary discussions" is rather formal and if you asked me what it means, I'd define it as "discussions that will pave the way for more discussions" which too is quite far off.

I've added a suggestion, and it is phrased awkwardly but it's the best I can do.</upd_detl>
