<upd_detl>Is there a particular reason for having spec1 on the reading rather than the kanji? If there's not, I think it should be on the kanji, the kana form is obviously not very common.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>It's just a flag to indicate entries which can go into the JMdict distribution, and may be replaced in a future revision. It's simpler if they are all in the same place.</upd_detl>
