<upd_detl>表記 is more than just spelling, as it involves choice of kanji and kana and issues like okurigana. I think the previous glosses summarized it well, and the single "spelling inconsistency" loses quite a bit. I guess to me "spelling" is not a word I'd use with Japanese writing.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>-daijs suggests 'inconsistency usage (within a single document)', but that's not the sense that i get for the entry for just 揺れ from daijs or other dictionaries.  they seem to suggest that 揺れ just means the existence of different forms (not necessarily inconsistent within a document)
