Interestingly. it was the only Jesuit publication that continued to be around after the Tokugawas banned Christianity.  The rest were rounded up and destroyed. I worked on a research project on some about 20 years ago, but we used copies held by the Vatican.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>Correction. The Jesuits also published a romaji edition of the 平家物語, which stayed around too. Samples on that BL page.</upd_detl>
