<upd_detl>1950s: 破壊工作統制局を設立して -> and established the Subversive Activities Control Board

Had the flashcard in my anki deck 妨害工作: sabotage (which is fine, and about equally popular). Watching the new star trek today with forced Japanese subtitles, "sabotage", in the sense that some ship equipment was subversively destroyed with a phaser by someone on the crew, was translated more than once as 破壊工作.

Internet seems to confirm this is also sabotage. (Perhaps if we read the kanji literally, 破壊 necessarily involves physical destruction, 妨害 involves impeding by any means, possibly including physical destruction). Maybe not, eow.alc literally lists: 妨害[破壊]工作.

"subversive activities" seems to maybe be a dated gloss related to the translation of some specific bureaucratic structures in the 1950s. I wouldn't miss it if it was gone, it seems kind of odd to me here. *might* fit better on the soon-to-be-added 破壊活動: (活動 = activities...)

For example: Subversive Activities Prevention Act: 破壊活動防止法</upd_detl>
