<upd_detl>I'm not sure exactly what a better definition would be, but this word seems to be specifically a medical one about bone/skin/muscle coming together (Daijisen says "傷口がふさがること"), and I think it would be helpful if the EDICT definition was clear that this isn't just any old kind of adhesion.</upd_detl>
