<upd_detl>Dropping the "contemplation" gloss first. I just wrote a novel on how 孤愁 is not "lonely contemplation". I don't see any justification for "contemplation" on this term out in the wild.

oxford: 心の奥にある(=幽)深い悲しみ。
noun
1. melancholy
2. gloom

After a post this, I will propose deleting and merging with the xref.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>This relatively-rare term shares a reading with another term that has, let's say, "an extremely similar" meaning.

Propose adding this kanji as [rK] to the xref and deleting this entry. (I think I would prefer rK to sK in this instance)

sankoku has the xref, but not this term.

Big Japanese dictionaries list these separately.

But if our glosses cannot identify any meaningful difference in nuance, then it seems like we might as well stick them together and make everyone's lives simpler. I found other references that have done this already (refs). Seems like we've merged terms for less than this.

For what it's worth, MacOS IME won't produce this term, I have to copy/paste pieces around to build it.</upd_detl>
