<upd_detl>I know it's our usual practice to omit nakaguro from the readings of acronyms, but many references, e.g. GG5, include them(*). The online Kenkyusha server will find the entries with both forms despite only displaying one of them. With the availability now of the [sk] tag, I'm wondering if it's time to review our approach and include the nakaguro version(s) as search-only forms.
(*) the kokugos tend to use a hyphen, e.g. シー‐ピー‐ユー, in the displayed form.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I don't think they're needed. In most cases, the kana is just a pronunciation guide. English acronyms are almost always written using Roman letters.</upd_detl>
