<upd_detl>Doesn't refer to the couple itself. I don't have any suggestions for how it should be glossed.
Without JEs or contemporary examples to refer to, I feel we're a bit in the dark when it comes to glossing archaic terms like this. Relying on definitions alone will inevitably lead to inaccurate glosses in some cases. It's one of the reasons I'd rather we didn't accept archaic terms as a general rule.
I don't think an entry like this has much value.</upd_detl>

I feel that with 180 in the n-grams it's worth having a go at it. If it was &lt; 50 I'd probably drop it.</upd_detl>
