I'll stop adding [rare] here on the list, as even though the other terms are comparatively rare, they aren't exactly rare in isolation.  If you think it would be appropriate to add [rare] or [see] references to any of the higher entries, I'd be happy to do so. Otherwise I won't worry about it further.

寺 and 寺院 are at least flagged as common.

Weird note... google news returns some results, but more Chinese and Korean than Japanese. Particularly large number of korean results for a kanji search.</upd_detl>
