<upd_detl>Robin is right that we have been inconsistent,
but our goal is to have matching PoS.
The glosses
    sullenly; offendedly; huffily; petulantly; indignantly
    stuffily; stiflingly;
are at least tolerable.
I lean towards Rene's position here,
but would be willing to go either way.</upd_detl>

Robin, you should have changed the PoS to [vs,adv].
If that's so, then I think adjective glosses are best.
(We usually gloss [vs] with nouns, but that would be too contrived here.)</upd_detl>

we usually gloss words leading PoS [vs] as verbs, examples:
	1319000	辞任	じにん	to resign
1423060	着手	ちゃくしゅ	to start work (on)
	1436410	提出	ていしゅつ	to present
	1453270	同伴	どうはん	to accompany
1487250	匹敵	ひってき	to be a match for
	1559900	連絡	れんらく	to contact
the following are all common [on-mim] with leading POS [adv]
as you can wee we are completely inconsistent
	1001110	うんざり tedious
	1006480	せかせか restless
1226360	びっくり	吃驚	to be surprised
	1011230	ぶらぶら dangling heavily
	1124270	ぼやぼや carelessly
	1003490	キョロキョロ looking around restlessly
but I think we could apply the same rule to them and gloss them as verbs</upd_detl>

I assume that the unabridged nikk is also the source of the "slowly (exhaling smoke)". I suggest dropping it and replacing it with the "力を入れて,唇をとじるさま" sense in daijr (and nikk).</upd_detl>
