<upd_detl>Years ago, after some discussion, we isolated a few common misspellings into their own entries to highlight them as such. There is a bit of a trap in putting こんにちわ, etc. into the regular こんにちは entry, as it may obscure the fact that it's an error, and certainly makes for a messy entry.
We have 5 of these specials: こんにちわ, こんばんわ, ありがと, ろにん and ロマンジ (perhaps 願わくわ counts too.) I think they are all best kept separate and cross-referenced.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I still think this entry is a little problematic. こにちわ and こにちは are typos foreigners might be prone to make while こんにちわ is
(most of the time) a stylistic choice used by native speakers all the time. I think this entry should be deleted and the こんにちわ
reading alone added to the こんにちは entry with an [ik] tag, just like ほんと is currently in the 本当/ほんとう entry.</upd_detl>

I think こにちわ/こにちは should stay, if only to help gaijin.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I didn't really consider the kanji. こんに
ちわ should probably be kept separate from
こんにちは then. I'm not at all convinced
the other two readings are helpful even to
"gaijin", though. With the removal of the
ろにん, ロマンジ, etc. entries, this one's
now the odd one out. As a user, I wouldn't
expect any Japanese headword to be a typo
not actually common among native speakers
themselves.</upd_detl>
