2) text at hand: 遺体を家から墓地に運ぶ時は、龕（がん）が利用された。龕の中に棺
を入れ、男性８人が肩で担いだ。以前は村に「龕屋（がんや）」と呼ばれる保管場所が
あった。琉球列島には、洗骨という習俗があった。洗骨とは、遺体を数年後（３年か５年
程）に墓から出し、丁寧に洗ってから、厨子（沖縄では特に骨甕のことを指す）に納め、
墓に戻す方法である。
