can by itself basically mean "なかなかいい," as in the example
above. Not sure whether adj-na or adv should be 2 different

<upd_detl>There is another adjectival use of なかなか that takes の, as in "彼はなかなかの外交家だ" (he is quite a diplomat) or "なかなかのものだったろう?" (it was wonderful, wasn't it?). I've added this as meaning 4 with adj-no as the part of speech, but the help page says adj-no is a noun that can take の, and I'm not sure if that fits here, so please change if I've got it wrong.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I feel this is part of sense 1 (and is really a case of the common な -> の transfer one sees all the time.) Then I see in the body of GG5 example after example where なかなかの is being used as Winnie describes (e.g. 彼はなかなかの書き手だ. He is a very good writer.) I think it's worth including.</upd_detl>
