「自分で自分のケツをふく」って自分の責任は自分で取るという意味ですが、例えが汚なすぎませんか？
...この言葉は単に「責任を取る」と言う意味ではなく、
「自分の不始末の後処理を責任持って自分でやる」という意味です。
