<upd_detl>Living in Japan, I see the "ランチ" reading for "lunch" very 
commonly.  I can't really remember a time when I've run 
across the same katakana reading in the sense of "software 
launch" in the wild though.  The katanaka reading I've seen 
used by the Japanese customers/partners I've had dealings 
with is "ローンチ" (often, "リリース" or "導入" is just used to 
mean the same thing instead).

I use JMdictDB a lot.  I also tend to forget what the 
particular pronunciation for a 外来語 is (tends to be 
different than what I would have "spelled" it, I find), so 
JMdicfDB is also very useful in that respect.  For my 
personal use as well, if this other katanaka-ization can be 
added to the definition, I think it would be useful.</upd_detl>
