<upd_detl>* Fix and elaborate definition
* Link to 大歌 is because 小歌 specifically *accompanied* 大歌, hence the name
* Note that kyōgen and noh style songs are distinguished by dicts as separate senses, and daijr even specifically states that they are distinguished (in 狂言小歌)
* The “popular song” sense is a bit complicated and historical, and replaced by 小唄 and 端唄 since late Edo – see daijr (and ja:WP 小唄) for discussion. Keeping this for “up to early Edo (and related historical genres)” and having 小唄 for “late Edo to now” seems clearest.
(Encountered in a kyōgen, in which case it’s referring to the kyōgen style of song, obviously, based on the folk songs.)</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I can see the case for expanding it. Sense 1 does read rather 直訳 though. Can we have something better than "female song or ballad (by analogy)"? It doesn't work in English. Probably should align the 小唄 entry gloss with sense 2.</upd_detl>
