<upd_detl>If it's used as an adjective it should be tagged as one. If the first tag is adv, it should be glossed as an adverb, is my stance. I don't think we need all of these glosses but I don't think "in an x manner" is horribly contrived (vs. adding -ly to everything)</upd_detl>
