<upd_detl>Added to the note field, and added cross-reference to だけ.
Both だけ and しか mean "only", but this one implies that it
is bad.

i.e. In the sentence, "Only I understand." If しか is used
instead of だけ, it implies that others needed to understand
also, like in a classroom setting. But if comparing oneself
to competitors, だけ would be more appropriate.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>while the extended note is somewhat helpful in explaining
some of the differences between しか and だけ, it doesn't
actually always hold true. examples from prog: "その曲をうまく歌
えるのは彼しかいない", "彼には一度しか会ったことがない" from eij: "(人)
のために最高のものしか買わない". daij don't either make any mention
of undesirability or insufficience: "... 特定の事柄以外のものを全
く否定する意を表す"
_
I don't think the ref to だけ is particularly helpful.
_
on another note (but still on the note), considering しきゃ
and しっきゃ are familiar (daijs) and that the gloss is so
short, can't we split them out and get a more aesthetically
pleasing entry with a shorter note?</upd_detl>

Does "excepting" work here? It's true that 俺しかできない doesn't really make sense just with the dictionary definitions. A self-taught beginner would probably assume "only I can't"</upd_refs>
