家庭裁判所が少年事件として取り扱うのは，主に次のような少
年の事件です。

犯罪少年
罪を犯した14歳以上20歳未満の少年
触法(しょくほう)少年
刑罰法令に触れる行為をしたが，その行為の時14歳未満であっ
たため，法律上，罪を犯したことにならない少年
ぐ犯少年
20歳未満で，保護者の正当な監督に従わないなどの不良行為が
あり，その性格や環境からみて，将来罪を犯すおそれのある少
年
なお，少年事件でいう「少年」とは，女子も含んだ表現です。</upd_refs>
