mentioned in either daij, gg5 or jawiki, though "wanderer" is the original meaning.

GG5's definition of the 2nd sense is much more detailed/precise than ours: （学生の） a high-school graduate who failed to enter
a college and is waiting for another chance; a student who failed the entrance examination and has been cramming to try again; a
would-be but disappointed university entrant. They also gloss it as a "student" rather than the "waiting" said student does.
daijr is more general: "進学や就職に失敗し，次の機会を待ってその準備をすること。また，その人。" but then again they don't have a
separate sense for "person out of work" like we and GG5 do.
