<upd_detl>Is this really correct? Both meaning-wise and, I don't know, structurally? 欲す is defined only as "want" in both daijs and daijr.
So negation+と欲す seems self-evidently to mean "to want (not to be done/happen)", so I don't get where "endeavor" comes from
there. Also, if it is indeed correct despite my misgivings, should the ん really be included in the headword? And if this is
archaic, is "nai stem" the correct terminology?</upd_detl>

archaic in our sense.</upd_detl>
