<upd_detl>When I've seen this term used, it's most often been used to mean not so much "drawing" a circle, but to walk or ride or fly a circular route around something. If you're familiar with this usage as well, perhaps an extra meaning could be added... "to travel in a circle around (something)", perhaps?</upd_detl>
