I note that Kenkyusha's EJ doesn't use アンバサダー at all in its entry for "brand ambassador".
I'll leave this open; someone else might like to comment. I should propose entries for キャンペーンキャラクター and 広報大使 (we have イメージキャラクター already.)</upd_detl>
