<upd_detl>“Lofty peak” feels a bit weird, and doesn’t really add any searchability or additional context.
 高山 seems to simply represent high mountains only, and probably wouldn’t be used to refer to an area of low/sub-alpine mountains, for example. 
Mountainous region would be 山地 or 山岳地帯. I think we should leave out the area glosses as it could be misleading</upd_detl>
