<upd_detl>You could add a reference to the entry for 吉野山
Yoshinoyama (p,s)

... except that this entry doesn't give any relevant information regarding its
significance in terms of literature, religion and blossom viewing
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Yoshino

In CEDICT we write short definitions of proper nouns, giving the most salient points
about their significance (if they have any). Do you do that in EDICT?

e.g.
[Da4 tun2 huo3 shan1]
/Mt Tatun, volcanic area to the north of Taipei/
 [Yan4 dang4 shan1]
/Yandang mountains, famous scenic area in southeast Zhejiang/
etc.</upd_detl>
http://kotobank.jp/word/%E4%B8%80%E7%9B%AE%E5%8D%83%E6%9C%AC

a glance ~千本。

3) Mt. Yoshino is famous for its many thousands of sakura trees. These
flowering specimen trees were planted in four groves at different altitudes,
in part so that the famed trees would come into bloom at different times of
the spring. A 1714 account explained that, on their climb to the top,
travelers would be able to enjoy the lower 1,000 cherry trees at the base,
the middle 1,000 on the way, the upper 1,000 toward the top, and the 1,000 in
the precincts of the inner shrine at the top.

In ENAMDICT there is often a short expansion, e.g. ".15C painter in the Tosa School". I'll add to the 吉野山 entry.</upd_detl>
