<upd_detl>I am not going to edit this entry, just leaving a comment. I am pretty sure the two kanji representations of the word are not ateji--they are not borrowed kanji for the pronunciation.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>As can be seen, the kokugos all label 破落戸 as 当て字. We usually try and take a firmer line on this tag and restrict it to matching kanji readings, which is not the case here. I suggest we drop it from the kanji forms and tag ごろつき as gikun (義訓). Possibly we need to (re)think the policy on this - I don't like loose use of 当て字 tags but certainly going with the flow is easier.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>Well that's usually the case but I don't think it's mandatory.
It might be useful to have a tag for kanji applied to a term but which don't spell out the 
reading. We could use "ateji" as do many references, but it grates a bit.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I really think 無頼 doesn't fit here. Rene added it 2 years ago based on shinmeikai but no other reference has it, and it's already an entry on its own: (無頼 (ぶらい) (adj-no,adj-na,n) (1) villainous; rascally; knavish; (adj-no,adj-na,n) (2) (arch) independent; self-reliant)</upd_detl>
