<upd_detl>Merging would be messy as they seem to only overlap by one or two senses. BTW, which sense of 締める is "魚を締める" related to? I'm having trouble with it.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I meant that "to kill" should prob. be added 
as a sense to 締める rather than 〆る. but yes, 
also that the 2 should probably be merged. I'm 
not convinced 〆る can't be used for several 
other if not all of the senses in 締める.

<upd_detl>I'll add that to the 締める entry, As for remerging, i.e. undoing the 2012 split, I feel we need to be on much stronger ground to do that. The old merged entry was a mess of restrictions. For now I'd rather keep it as-is with xrefs.</upd_detl>
