<upd_detl>this is the j-j for the word: はっきりとは見えないが、漠然と感じられるようす
I am understanding that as "vaguely perceived state of things that is not "plainly visible" / "readily apparent"

so if my understanding is correct, "something sensed" and "feel" should match 気配 as well, I think
the sentence だれかがいる気配がする,I understand it as "I feel someone's here"
also the 研究社 新和英中辞典 has this sentence: 人の来る気配がした translated as "I sensed someone approaching"</upd_detl>

how about "indication (of something happening, someone's presence, etc.)" ?</upd_detl>
