Typically used in a positive sense (i.e. to say that the possibility does exist) rather than a dismissive one.
Tricky to come up with a gloss but this is my attempt.
Not sure on the PoS but it almost always appears in the form "可能性が微レ存". I don't think it's [adj-na] so I've gone with [n]. [exp] is another option.
"びレぞん" is the most common reading.</upd_detl>
