<upd_detl>I don't think so. Sense one is about drinking things, so "take (medicine)" is really in there. The fact that we can say "take" in English for medicine (it used to be used more widely) doesn't mean it's a different sense in Japanese.</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>i think the note could be useful but having checked the regs, i probably wouldn't word it as it currently is (noting that it was originally my summary of another submission). if 服む is kept here, i would definitely keep that part of the note though. however, we could split 服む out into its own headword as we have already done for 喫む</upd_detl>
