<upd_detl>I think the usage in things like 自動ドア is just a noun in a compound noun, not adjectival. But even if we decide it's adjectival, 自動 
is also commonly used as an adj-no (which I count as "noun" use)... which means normally we'd tag it as adj-no, not adj-f (because that's 
implied by adj-no). I think [adj-no,n] would be better than [adj-f]

(I see our 半自動 entry is [n,adj-f]  "semi-automatic", while 全自動 is	[adj-no] "totally automatic")</upd_detl>

I've never really understood what [adj-f] is,
