<upd_detl>Is this the best definition? Wikipedia has "a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection."
I think the "imperfection" aspect is important.
The x-ref seems unnecessary (although I note they have the same gloss).</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I like that, and have attempted to weave it in. The person who entered the original in 2006 was translating the Japanese Wikipedia page, and noted:
"I did my best to translate the meaning, but it's not one of those words that has a single clear translation. Personally I think it would be better to have some sort of translation available, but will not be offended in any way if you decide that this entry is too wishy-washy and delete it."
Shortly after that Kanji Haitani entered the 閑寂枯淡 entry, using the same gloss. I think they should be aligned if this is accepted.</upd_detl>
