<upd_detl>This is usually used in the context of coaxial splitters/combiners, as in cable TV, etc.
There is a question as to whether this entry could/should be merged with 混合機, as has been done with many other ~器/~機 terms. From what I'm seeing 混合機 is always a mixer/blender of materials, ingredients, etc. and 混合器 is usually just for frequencies, but Eijiro has a few outliers:
■ジェット混合器 : jet mixer
■ホウ酸混合器 : boric acid blender
■混合器具 : mixing tool
A full merge is probably not appropriate, but maybe a second sense for this one with a "usu. 混合機" comment?</upd_detl>
