<upd_detl>i agree, but i don't think it fits in enamdict and we have a history of letting these kinds of things in.

i think ideally all these bizarre orthographical variants would just be handled by some kind of software interface to the dictionary that allows for fuzzy matching</upd_detl>

<upd_detl>I'm going to close this and then reopen it to reduce the clutter. I intend to get to the broader issue of handling oddball variants, but it will be a while. I like RObin's comments about ありがーと and I'm tossing in some n-gram counts in that area. It's interesting how common ありがと is.</upd_detl>
