<upd_detl>It's really Chinese but there are a few references in current Japanese literature. Probably mostly talking about IOT in China.
I doubt that this will become a common usage in Japanese. Mostly just of current interest.</upd_detl>
<upd_refs>I found it in a Japanese document talking about China telecoms services. The usage was 物聯網サービス</upd_refs>

<upd_detl>My first reaction was to reject it because it's clearly a Chinese term, but on checking I see it's used in a significant number of Japanese online documents, usually in a Chinese context (examples above). I don't feel we should prevent people reading such text from using this dictionary to help them understand what's in the text.
I'll leave it to other editors to decide whether is stays or goes.</upd_detl>

Rene (in a forked thread) favoured rejecting it. Any other views? I won't lose sleep if it goes, but I might pop it in my "glossing extras" file for WWWJDIC.</upd_detl>
