サ変動詞に接続する場合、「出席される」のように、未然形のうち、「さ」に「れる」が付くのが普通であるが、書き言葉でのやや改まった言い方では、「出席せられる」のように、未然形のうち、「せ」に「られる」が付くこともある

きっと、国文のかたにいわせると、
「せられる」が正式形で
「される」が簡便形だというと思います。
もともと、サ変の未然形は「せ」が正式形で、以下のように移行しました
(する) 「せられる」→「される」(現在サ変)
(愛する) 「愛せられる」→「愛される」(五段化)
(信ずる) 「信ぜられる」→「信じられる」(上一段化)
(達する) 「達せられる」→「達せられる」(古典サ変のまま)
語尾が、「する」「うずる」「んずる」「っする」という音韻的な
要因により、その後の活用形が分岐したのでしょう。</upd_detl>
