In this usage, it could be translated as "from one's own experiences" and it seems maybe worthwhile to record... but I went through a couple of 
pages of search results though and these were the only two titles I could find, so maybe not.

<upd_detl>I'm always aware of things that aren't handled well by wwwjdic's glossing. This one is very poor, and although the NG version correctly treats it as 見+たり+聞い+たり it's still messy. Yes, the meaning's obvious once you know a bit of Japanese. I think I'll go with it.</upd_detl>
