<upd_detl>i'm not convinced of the need either.  if anything, it belongs as a sense on でかい.  (i.e., if 人間のデカさ is okay, then so would be 人のでかさ, 男のでかさ, etc.)  but without evidence, i don't think it should be added there either</upd_detl>
