I hope we can head towards a consistent approach on the XXX科
entries.

I have done a bit of digging (grep as usual). We currently have about
160 entries of the "XXX科 .... family" variety. Of these about 105
are solely "カタカナ科 ...", about 50 have kanji as well, e.g.
アイナメ科;鮎魚女科;鮎並科 [アイナメか(アイナメ科);あいなめか(鮎魚女科,鮎並科)] ....
and a handful are only in kanji:
瓜科 [うりか] /(n) Cucurbitaceae/gourd family/
腸内細菌科 [ちょうないさいきんか] /(n) Enterobacteriaceae (family of bacteria)/
etc.

I was surprised to see we have so many of the mixed ones.

I guess a consistent policy for the 科-family entries would be:
- there must be a カタカナ科 form included;
- a 漢字科 with appropriate reading restrictions is an acceptable
option.

We also probably need to agree on a consistent form of words.
They are a bit all over the place at present
