Re: [edict-jmdict] Vocabulary Relationships and Important Links

Unlike with the English language acquisition system I have developed over the past 25 years, I forgot to include the obvious: homonyms, homophones, whatever be your label of choice.

Example: 設ける and 儲ける both of which can be read もうける and both of which have earned P-Marker status in Edict.  Despite the option of "jumping through hoops" to see what has allegedly been done already, yet invisible to the ready eye, I would suggest a color-coding scheme, a methodology which is hardly revolutionary.

Yet, for some odd reason there seems to be some hesitation to use color in Edict, despite all the right-brain research that evidences the need for embracing color-coding.

So in conclusion, we could -- in a very labor-unintensive way via color-coding -- demarcate Synonyms, Antonyms and Homonyms and provide an avenue of information that most users would find quite beneficial.

If such an approach is deemed useful, and why not, I believe we could all provide an abundance of examples and feel a bit more "contributory" in the process.

There is an (ant: ) link standard. However the (ant: ) links (unlike
the (See ) links) are not 'live'. e.g. you can't click on them to go
to the entry in question.

x-refs, pos and such like information is not searchable on in WWWJDIC.
(There may well be other online dictionaries that use the Edict / JMDict
data where they can be used).
