Dennis, there is web page for my jmdict database project at
http://www.edrdg.org/~smg/  Although not working at the 
moment, the search and new-entry links are backed by the
database.  The code repository is online at:

You are correct that progress has been slow (due to other
time commitments, changing the implementation language, 
some infrastructure issues on Arakawa, and, as you know, 
jmdict itself is a moving target. :-)
Anyway, a lot of the catchup/cleanup work has been done 
and I hope real progress will speed up soon, though I do have 
some other commitments coming up in August/September.
