Is this list specifically sensitive words that are banned because of
possible offense, or does it include words that are restricted simply
because it was not felt to be stylistically appropriate (in similar
way to newspaper style manuals in the US)?
It occurs to me that a word like 医者 might be on that list because
someone felt that 医師 would be more formal and therefore better in a
news context or other formal non-colloquial contexts in broadcast,
not because some doctors are going to scream if they hear it. If
that's the case, it would be a disservice to discourage its use
through a mark indicating "sensitivity".
We'd do well to be careful on that one.
BTW, if you do mark sensitive words (real ones like 盲), it would be
good to have a cross-reference to the word that is more appropriate.
