In the line from both 大辞泉 and 大辞林 about "restless", they both say うきうきして, which jmdict defines as "cheerful, buoyant, cheery, lighthearted". "Eager" may not be the best way to put it, but just "restless" could easily be taken as far more negative than this seems to be. "Restless with excitement", maybe?

In Japanese usage, the acronym AGA (エージーエー) almost always refers to 男性型脱毛症 (dansei-gata datsumōshō, “male-pattern hair loss”), even though the literal medical term androgenetic alopecia is gender-neutral.

A few points about how it’s perceived in Japan:

Default assumption = men. In ads, clinics, and popular media, AGA is overwhelmingly tied to male patients. The word has become almost synonymous with “male-pattern baldness” in Japanese marketing.

Women’s hair loss is labeled differently. Clinics usually market it under terms like FAGA (女性男性型脱毛症) or simply 女性の薄毛, to avoid confusion with the male-focused branding of AGA.

Saw on a 発毛-company advertisement on the train. "AGAなら[company/product name]..."  No other terminology, imagery, or kanji of any kind indicating hair loss (other than a small 発毛 on the bottom of the ad), so AGA must be pretty well understood.

Note the *kanji* in 男性型脱毛症 is specifically male (男性), while the opening synonyms give "pattern baldness" and "AGA" without "Male". It appears that "clinically" AGA is gender neutral (though it predominantly affects men), but perhaps in practice implies "male".

This is definitely a term, figured I'd add for completeness.

Apparently 男性型脱毛症 has been clinically defined in a way that 女性男性型脱毛症 doesn't mean "Male or female pattern hairloss", but "female [version of] male pattern hairloss".  Which I find super-weird. 女性型脱毛症 of course also exists.
