It seems to be an oddity on GG5's part, since that's where the "demolition" etc. notes are coming from.
I don't see those in other JE's, Luminous even has it as just an adverb.
Jitsuyou dedicates a separate entry to なし崩しに.

| Comments: | I agree. Perhaps something along these lines works? I'd suggest maybe dedicating an extra entry to なし崩しに, as mentioned in the edits down below. I was struggling quite a bit coming up with glosses for the third sense. Subject to further improvement. |

| Comments: | while I usually don't want to touch Robin Scott's glosses, it feels like they're for very specific sentences here. they work for daijirin's second example but don't think they do for the first they don't work at all for daijisen's two examples kokugos use すませてゆく, 片付けていく or 行なう as verbs, all very neutral, and I can't find mention of "demolition" or "erosion" in them. I recommend replacing the three with "gradual progression (oft. into an unwanted state)" but maybe somebody has better suggestions? the parentheses are only there because of the kotobasta quote, I can't judge its veracity so if you want to remove them go ahead |

| Comments: | There are 78 sentences linked to 難い, and the overwhelming majority are for にくい/がたい. I have relinked them, so in a week or so this problem should be fixed. |
|
| 4. | A* 2013-12-07 12:59:18 Francis | |
| Refs: | See below. |

| Comments: | The sample sentence under the above entry is as follows:-
難い 【かたい】 (adj-i) difficult; hard; (P) [Edit][Ex][L][G][GI][S][A][JW]
プラスチックは割れにくい。 Plastic does not break easily.[Amend]
There seems to be a linkage problem.
If one takes the entry for "にくい", one sees the following:-
にくい(P); がたい(難い) 《難い(P); 悪い》 (suf,adj-i) (uk) (after the -masu stem of a verb) (See 為悪い・しにくい) difficult to ...; hard to ...; (P) [Edit][Ex][G][GI][S][A][JW] [G][GI][S][A][JW]
プラスチックは割れにくい。 Plastic does not break easily.[Amend]
Where the sample sentence is all right.
I can understand that with a reading based upon "難い" that there may be reasonable explanations for the above locations of the sample sentence. However, if it is possible to correct the error then it is good, having spotted it, that I raise it.
As a suggestion, I am wondering if the two main entries could be merged again, but maybe a problem will arise in respect of that suggestion owing to the two readings of "かたい" and "がたい" as already noted by Rene. However, sometimes it is better to break the rules and end up with understanding by bring two things together, than to keep to the rules and leave confusion.
Also when looking for my original search for "耐えにくい", I could only find the following:-
耐え難い; 耐難い; 堪え難い 【たえがたい】 (adj-i) unbearable; intolerable; unendurable
Maybe "にくい" cannot be used with "耐え", but it is noted with a [P] in the entry for "にくい", shown above. |

| Comments: | Promoting from WI1 and/or LW2. 生活の本拠 (often shortened to 本拠) is the expression the tax office uses, for example, when determining if a house one just sold will be judged to have been one's primary residence (lower tax) or an investment property (higher tax) Note: the expression "place of life" sounds odd/off - "living premises" or "place of living" would seem more natural |
