	Comments:	True, I should certainly have included sources. I'll fix that rather sloppy omission. It is more properly/specifically known as "atarashii naginata", but generally just called "naginata". (maybe should be marked as an abbreviation?) In both Japanese and English.

	Comments:	Partisan... I don't think I need to mention why and how that spear type is very different. Fauchard is merely a more obscure term, for glaive. (to quote the Wikipedia article "In later historical text, the terms glaive (possibly Welsh) and fauchard are used to describe the same weapons./.../ Some historians use only the classification "glaive" or "fauchard" and ignore the other entirely.") As for protruding bits on the glaive... To again quote from Wikipedia (not the best place to use as a source, actually, as Wikipedia itself is first to point out, but...): "Occasionally, glaive blades were created with a small hook on the reverse side to better catch riders. Such blades are called glaive-guisarmes." I.e. glaives often (usually) don't have protruding bits, but merely just a single edged blade. As for being different to a naginata... I don't really think the difference are such as to make it a different type, really, IMO, but... it's debatable, I suppose, and I can see the reason, for saying they're different. I guess the safest course is to go with the "established" view of it being separate. The definition you suggest isn't bad. (though I've suggest a slight tweak)

	Comments:	I don't think it's close enough to a glaive to use that as the translation. Glaives (and partisans) have protruding bits. The closest European weapon is the fauchard, AFAICT. They're all varieties of polearm. I've split 長刀/ちょうとう/long sword off into its own entry.

	Comments:	Naginata are nothing like halberds, at all. (how and why it has come to often be translated as such, is beyond me) They are glaives. Naginata and choutou are two completely separate words, so they should be two separate entries. (also note that naginata are not swords, as some sometimes falsely call them. They are polearms. Glaives ...with blades that are distinctly different to any sword blade)

	Comments:	sorry for commenting on a recently edited entry, but i think it can be improved smk does say that ついたち can be used adverbially 一日/いっぴ is only used for sense 1, esp. in a business context (sankoku example, meikyo, shinkoku) 朔日/さくじつ is only used for sense 1, daijr, kanken, iwakoku specify 陰暦 (daijrs also kinda implies this by saying "朔月。「卯月朔日」") but not for ついたち - i also suspect it's more dated/formal as most refs redirect to ついたち and shinkoku tags it as 文 even if the archaic second sense is removed, it feels to me that splitting out the readings would make for better and more complete entries i believe sentence #209505 was actually meant for １日/いちにち instead of this entry, but the reading or entry id wasn't specified the audio link in wwwjdic contains "kana=ついたち&kanji=１日" which means it was probably meant for ついたち so if my proposal is accepted ついたち should remain in this 2311109 entry i can't actually confirm the pronunciation because when i try to play the audio it only says something along the lines of "audio not available, will be uploaded shortly"
