| Comments: | While we could add 〼 as a "kanji" form here (I'd tag it as search-only), it wouldn't actually address Hendrik's problem. 〼 is not being handled by any WWWJDIC functions because that server is limited to the characters covered by the JIS standards. 〼 is not in those standards - it is only in Unicode in the "CJK Symbols and Punctuation" block. The entry at https://www.edrdg.org/jmwsgi/entr.py?svc=jmdict&sid=&q=2210290 is probably the best we can do. |

| Comments: | This is about "〼" (枡記号), which is one of several symbols that are being used like a 漢字 in various contexts and which think fits appropriately into the current entry: although there is a reference in the dictionary entry with the ID 2311736 (see https://www.edrdg.org/jmwsgi/entr.py?svc=jmdict&sid=&e=2311736 ) when entering a term that includes the symbol "〼" (as is the case with "三〼"in the text I give as first reference) nothing comes up either in "Text Glossing" or in "Word Search/Home", that's why I suggest we include it here (a few other dictionaries have it, as well; see the references). |

| Refs: | https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masu_(measurement) A masu (枡 ("square") or 升 ("measure")[1]) was originally a square wooden box used to measure rice in Japan during the feudal period. |
|
| Comments: | Do we need a dedicated sense for the wooden box pictured here: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/枡 Or just do an image search for: 升 (copious and unambiguous results) Clearly the box itself is something recognizable in its own right. I came here from 升売り, which referenced the existence of a "wooden masu box". But I don't see that specifically in any of the current senses. Something like: [5] traditional a square wooden box used to measure rice and other foods by volume Or something... Maybe this should replace [1]. Perhaps the current "measuring container" itself is too general... |

| Comments: | I agree that the net-sl tag makes that clear. But I'm not sure why you think this entry might not be necessary? If you need an example of it being used, look at the chat of this stream: https://youtu.be/99Aq3nML2VI?t=5963 (timestamp is included). Note that most messages use the abbreviation くしゃたす, which I also want to add but of course that wouldn't make any sense without adding くしゃみ助かる itself before. On another note, I think the "bless you" is not accurate. I know that https://dic.pixiv.net/a/くしゃみ助かる states that but I think the author of that just looked at when the words are used and not that much at what meaning they convey. But don't take my word for it, look at this 「この言葉は英語で言うところの Bless you. にあたるでしょう。 (冗談です。強いて言えば、Thank you for sneezing. といったところでしょうか)」 (Source: https://diary-039.com/entry/2024/06/19/sn_tskr). Also, I think just adding "Bless you" makes it seem like a word used in standard conversation but as far as I know it's only really used in the context of streaming. I think it would make more sense to add the second meaning I originally had in mind "don't worry about sneezing (used when a streamer accidentally left his microphone unmuted while sneezing)" instead. Or maybe something a bit more concise like "don't worry about sneezing (when a streamer accidentally sneezes with unmuted mic)". Feel free to suggest a different version of course |

| Comments: | Ah, I see. What about my previous comment? I still think that "bless you" is both inaccurate and misleading here. Also, after thinking about the meaning of 助かる in slang in general more I believe the "don't worry about sneezing" really is a very accurate secondary meaning. I've already provided some references for that earlier but if you need more, let me know |
