Basically, I noticed that the entire 「うまがあう」 reading is shown as furigana on Jisho.org (https://jisho.org/search/馬が合う). I believe this is because the katakana ウマ is not matching the hiragana うま. Because of this, I swapped the hiragana and katakana readings. Please feel free to correct if this is not the correct fix. |

| Comments: | Both those glosses are in the relevant sense of the 役/やく entry, and do not reflect the あがり modifier. I am going to revert this entry to the gloss Marcus established in 2012, and which has lasted until now. Although あがり役 is not in any references, I see that GT and other translation systems render it as "winning hand". I think that will do. It is the only meaning that makes sense in the many cases I have examined where it is used. I do not regard it as a synonym of 役/やく. I will leave it open for a bit, but further attempts to gloss it just as "yaku" will be rejected. |

| Refs: | Oukoku for 揚がる: ① 空中に高くのぼる。「花火が―」 ② 水上・水中から陸上に移る。「船荷が―」 ③ きわだつ。「風采(ふうさい)が―・らない」 ④ 声が大きく発せられる。「歓声が―」 ⑤ 材料が熱した油の中で熱を通されて、天ぷらやフライなどの料理ができる。「からっと―」 Meikyo senses with two kanji forms: 1. to rise; to ascend; to come up 〔上・揚〕 3. to be moved to a higher position (of something that's been lifted or hoisted to a certain position)〔上・揚〕 5. to be washed ashore; to come on land (from underwater) 〔上・揚〕 6. to be dragged up onto land from the depths of the sea; to bring one's fishing haul to land 〔上・揚〕 → Meikyo 5 and 6 can be combined. Prog for sense 5: 〔上陸する〕land Daijr: 水の中にあった物が水上や陸や船上に移された状態になる。《揚》 Meikyo for sense 7: 【上・揚】遊郭に入って遊ぶ。登楼する。 Meikyo 2: 〔上・揚〕死体が水中から浮かび出る。浮き上がる。浮く。 Interestingly the third edition of Meikyo has 3 senses less than the second for its whole あがる entry. And the sense above has been incorporated into the "to be washed ashore sense", however I feel like its a bit too different as to incorporate this sense into it. |
| Comments: | . Second update to all three of the あがる entries. I'll leave it at that for now to see how it is received and for further improvement. I've left out any xrefs among the new entries for now, since it would probably get very messy with so many unresolved xrefs. But in general, would the indentical senses xref each other? |
