| Comments: | [n] ⇒ [pn] Daijs cites the 古今和歌集, daijr the 源氏物語, and Nikkoku the 今昔物語集. Nikkoku also has わがき, but I don't think it's worth recording. This should be tagged in some way. Either this or [arch] |

| Comments: | I agree, it's a construct and should be deleted. As with my submission for 一番下, I am pointing out that if the entry is retained, it needs more senses to be added. There are other constructs in EDICT, so I wasn't sure what the policy is. I see 一番下 has now been deleted, so it seems that there is a trend to get rid of constructs that were accepted in the past. |

|
| Comments: | The two-gloss entry would be better off deleted. It's far too limiting. The only reason I don't think this entry should necessarily be deleted(falling back to a grammatical derivation) is because "appeal" is an excellent gloss, and does not fit in 面白い. "humor" is also a good noun form of "funny". reverso statistics do not support adding "humorous" directly to 面白い, probably due to register differences. "fun" appears quite a lot in reverso, but is objectively overused. I am of course open to other glosses. I think the 3-sense split is much cleaner than trying to collapse everything to 1. 2 million ngrams can support a couple of senses. |

| Comments: | Most results I saw when looking this up were ~の受け入れ. I wouldn't necessarily call it obscure, but I don't quite think this is needed as an entry; it's a readily understandable collocation. |
|
| 5. | A* 2025-12-26 14:00:23 | |
| Comments: | but the quote I posted could be translated as "During a discussion on whether to regulate immigration levels, host Koji Kato asked, 'Why have the rules [for immigration] been so ambiguous?'" I'd argue it's a better translation than "admittance of foreign nationals" here. so it's not particularly obscure or odd I don't think? |
|
| 4. | A* 2025-12-26 10:51:36 Jim Breen <...address hidden...> | |
| Comments: | However, since it's not in any EJ reference (that I can see) for "immigration", it's not of much use for reverse lookups, as it will lead the user to an obscure and uncommon term. |
|
| 3. | A* 2025-12-26 01:34:04 | |
| Comments: | Since it's a non-obvious way to translate "immigration", I thought it might be useful. (esp. for reverse look-ups) |
